Community Action Agencies (CAA's)
Like NESDCAP, CAA's were established in 1964 to combat poverty in America. All CAA's are governed by a board of directors. The members of these boards come from three different areas of the community and are represented equally: Low-Income Sector, Private Sector, and Public Sector. South Dakota has four CAA's that provide services for the state:
•Inter-Lakes Community Action Partnership
• Northeast South Dakota Community Action Program
• Rural Office of Community Services, Inc.
• Western South Dakota Community Action Program
